Looking For A Job In NJ? One Company Has 5,000 Openings

Looking for a job? One company in New Jersey will be hiring 5,000 new employees.

McDonald’s and its independent franchisees are gearing up to hire approximately 5,000 restaurant employees in New Jersey this summer.

In a news release, McDonald's says this is "good news" for job seekers who are interested in pursuing an education while working at the fast-food franchise.

McDonald’s recently announced that it is allocating $150 million over five years to its global "Archways to Opportunity" education program, including lowering eligibility requirements from nine months to 90 days of employment and dropping weekly shift minimums from 20 hours to 15 hours.

This investment will provide almost 400,000 U.S. restaurant employees with an opportunity to earn a high school diploma, receive upfront tuition assistance for college courses, access academic advising courses and learn English as a second language.

“As McDonald’s franchisees, we are thrilled that more of our employees will now be able to take advantage of these education programs,” said Sandy Chapman, a New Jersey owner/operator, said in the release. “Whether an employee chooses to stay with McDonald’s or move on to another chapter in their career, we are proud to offer the tools and resources to help them reach that next step. It is all part of our ongoing commitment to being America’s best first job.”
