Manasquan Inlet Tug Of War Accepting Teams From Point Pleasant Beach

The fifth annual contest between Point Pleasant Beach and Manasquan is welcoming sign-ups for the October event.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — The battle of wills, strength and teamwork between Point Pleasant Beach and Manasquan is gearing up for a fifth year, and registration is now open for team entries in the Manasquan Inlet Tug of War.

The event raises money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and for the recreation departments in Point Pleasant Beach and Manasquan, and is scheduled for Oct. 8, organizers said.

The event, with celebrations on both sides of the inlet, is presented by Jersey Mike’s.

The series record is 2-2, with each town capturing the Winners' Cup twice.

The main event is the tug of war across the 500-foot-wide Manasquan Inlet, and there are festivals on both sides with live music, food and drinks from local vendors, activities for kids, and even beer gardens for the adults.
