More Than 400 Still Without Power In Point Pleasant Area (UPDATE)

JCP&L says power may not be restored for days. Gas stations reportedly lost power. Find out where you can get water and ice.

More than 400 people were still without power in the Point Pleasant area on Tuesday after rough storms passed through the region.

Point Pleasant Boro had 4,206 outages at 11 a.m. and Point Pleasant Beach had 534. By 8:30 p.m., those numbers shrunk to 366 and 52, respectively.

Gas stations in the area were reportedly closed because of the power outages.

Point Pleasant Beach reported that JCP&L is aware of the power outages and it is currently in the process of restoring power. The estimated time to have power restored was 3 to 4 hours but officials are now saying it could be days.

  • ShopRite, 2433 Rt 34, Manasquan
  • ShopRite, 1801 Rt 35, Belmar
  • Foodtown, 2201 Sunset Ave. Ocean
  • Foodtown, Route 35 Seagirt Avenue Sea Girt
  • Foodtown, 1562 Route 35 Ocean

Firefighters also ran numerous calls through the Point Pleasant Beach area.
