New Coaster Opens On Boardwalk In Point Pleasant Beach

The family coaster is ready as the boardwalk group's aquarium is set to celebrate 35 years in operation.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Jenkinson's Amusements is welcoming riders to its new roller coaster, Patriot's Run, which opened to the public on Sunday.

The opening comes as the company prepares to celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America in July. It also comes as Jenkinson's Aquarium gets set to mark 35 years in operation on June 6 and 7.

The new family roller coaster, which was announced in August 2025 and began construction in April, is scheduled for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 16, said Alex Taylor, marketing and brand manager for Jenkinson's Boardwalk.

The amusement park portion of the boardwalk opens at 2 p.m. Monday through Friday for those eager to ride the coaster. You can get a glimpse of what it's like in a video Jenkinson's posted to its Instagram account (see it at the bottom of this article).

The aquarium celebration includes entertainment and activities from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with animal meet-and-greets, mermaid meet-and-greets, and other offerings. The aquarium is scheduled to be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
