Antrim Elementary School has a new principal since Tom O'Hara has announced his retirement, officials said.

Antrim Elementary School has a new principal since Tom O’Hara has announced his retirement, officials said.
Tara Weber, who served as curriculum supervisor for about 6 years, was appointed to the position and began serving this week. A special meeting was held on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. to appoint a new principal for the school.
Weber has served as a teacher and as a supervisor for 16 years at the district.

"She is going to do a terrific job," said the district's superintendent, William Smith.
O’Hara was in his 16th year as the principal of G. Harold Antrim Elementary School. He graduated from Point Pleasant Beach High School in 1981.

O’Hara told The Ocean Star he would like to find a position where he can travel and see other parts of the country or the world.
“I’ve never been to Europe, so maybe I’ll get to Europe sometime," he told the publication. "Even just seeing different parts of the United States."
