OB Diner In Point Pleasant Beach Reopens

The OB Diner, the landmark Point Pleasant Beach restaurant that suffered through a large 1989 fire and a recent closure, has reopened.
“Spread the word we are open again!” read the inscription on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
The Antonatos family bought the diner and reopened two years after Its previous operators filed for bankruptcy and closed the restaurant.

The diner’s sales declined 11 percent in 2011, and health problems forced the owners to move to a warmer climate, according to The Asbury Park Press.
The diner was a popular destination for tourists after they entertained themselves at the Boardwalk, or high-schoolers looking for a place to hang after a Point Boro or Point Beach football game.
