
A 42-year-old man was found dead last week in theΒ Stop & Shop bathroomΒ on Bridge Avenue inΒ Point Pleasant Boro in what authoritiesΒ believe was an overdose of tainted heroin.
On Jan. 10, police discovered the Jersey City man hadΒ suspected heroinΒ and five additional wax folds stamped βBud Lightβ in red in his possession. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene, according toΒ Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.Β
Coronato warned that thisΒ overdose may have been caused by a batch of heroin that included toxic elements which prove fatal without medical attention.Β

He said the same heroin was likely used aΒ day later, whenΒ Seaside Heights Police were called to a Blaine Avenue residence and foundΒ aΒ 32-year-old local manΒ deadΒ in the bathroom.
In that case, investigators alsoΒ found wax folds at the residence stamped βBud Lightβ in red, containing suspected heroin. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.Β

An autopsy in both deaths will be conducted and law enforcement will test the drugs to determine their composition.Β
