Peter Hagemeyer for School Board of Education - Your Vote Matters

My name is Peter Hagemeyer and I’m running for a seat on the School Board of Education. I believe I’m a great fit for the board because my views on education and politics are unspoiled. My career experience in the private technology sector has spanned 20 years. I have developed and rolled out multi-million dollar software products for Wall Street, DARPA, and the Army. I understand the importance of planning, executing, following through on short /long term goals, and staying within a budget.

My primary concern is for the children, I have three of my own that attend Ocean Road School. As a parent I want to see them get the best education possible, have the highest quality teachers, and a safe place to learn. I also believe it’s very important for the community and all taxpayers to be involved with the school, volunteering time, and finding ways of giving back.

One way we all give back is taxes; 55% of your tax bill goes to the Point Pleasant schools, 22% to Ocean county, and 23% goes to the town. I hear people complain how our town spends money- do you know the school budget tax levy is $30+ Million dollars? They spend more money than town hall. We should all be attending school board meetings. The budget needs to be trimmed, spent wisely and sparingly. We need to make schools cost effective so that everyone can afford to live in Point Pleasant.
