Dozens of residents sipped hot chocolate at Arnold Avenue event
Point Pleasant Beach residents sipped hot chocolate and listened to Christmas carols as they strolled Arnold Avenue Friday night and celebrated the start of the holiday season with the borough’s annual tree lighting.
“We’ve come far from where we were two years ago,” Mayor Vincent Barrella said referencing the damage done by Hurricane Sandy, but noted the community’s unity and resiliency will finish the recovery.
Ornaments on the tree were made by students at G. Harold Antrim Elementary School.
