Play Golf, Help Food Pantry In Point Pleasant Beach

St. Mary's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church is holding the golf outing to raise funds for its outreach, including St. Gregory's food pantry.

POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — St. Mary’s by-the-Sea Episcopal Church is hosting a golf outing to raise money for its outreach efforts, including its food pantry.

The church, which is marking its sesquicentennial celebrating 150 years of service, offers a number of services to the community, including a hot meal and companionship through Mary’s Table; a warm bed, a listening ear, and a family meal through Interfaith Family Services; and groceries, Christmas toys and Easter baskets through St. Gregory’s Pantry, the food pantry housed at St. Mary’s.

The golf outing is set for Monday, May 15 at Spring Meadow Golf Course in Wall Township. It is a four-person scramble format with a shotgun start.

The entry fee is $135 per golfer, which includes the greens fee, cart, welcome bags, lunch, and dinner. Prizes will be given for closest to the pin on par-3s, and to the winners in the putting contest, along with the first-, second-, and third-place teams.

Payment for the golf outing is due by Sunday, April 30, and is payable by check to St. Mary’s by-the-Sea, 804 Bay Ave., Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742.

Sign-in for the golf outing will begin at 11 a.m. on May 15, with the shotgun start at noon. The buffet dinner will be held in McCann’s at Spring Meadow, and will include a gift auction of several large baskets featuring lottery tickets, gifts from local establishments, and gift cards. There will also be a 50/50 raffle drawing. Raffle participants must be present at the drawing to win.
