Point Boro Council, School Board Reorganization Meetings Set

The Borough Council is set to swear in two members, and the school board is set to swear in a member to a new term.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — The Point Pleasant Borough Council is scheduled to hold its 2024 reorganization meeting at noon on Monday, Jan. 1.

The meeting will be held in the council chambers at 2233 Bridge Ave., Point Pleasant.

The meeting will include the swearing in of Valerie Coulson to her second term on the council, and Joseph Veni will be sworn in to his first term on the council.

The agenda for the meeting had not been published as of Friday.

The Point Pleasant Borough Board of Education is scheduled to hold its reorganization meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Ocean Road Elementary School. There is a workshop meeting planned as well, according to the meeting schedule. An agenda had not been published as of Friday.

Cheryl Salway is scheduled to be sworn in to another term on the school board.

Joan Speroni was vacating her seat on the school board; a write-in candidate may have been elected, as there were 895 write-in votes, but who received the votes was not immediately available.
