700 Plus 200 Equals Joy On Milestone Day For Point Boro Wrestling
The program notched its 700th victory while at the same time clinching the 200th coaching victory for coach Pat Brady.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Capturing a milestone victory is a special achievement that any team enjoys celebrating. Capturing two in one day? Double the fun.
And double the fun was what the Point Pleasant Boro wrestling team had on Saturday, as the program notched its 700th victory and Coach Pat Brady reached 200 victories in his career.
Brady is in his 14th season as Point Boro's head coach, and came into the season needing four victories to reach 200.

The Panthers came into Saturday's quad meet with Donovan Catholic, Freehold Township and Neptune needing three wins to reach 700, and took care of business, sweeping all three matches, Shore Sports Network reported.
Brady has 200 victories and 79 losses in his career.

Point Pleasant has had its share of success along the way to 700 team victories, including winning the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 championship in 2007 and 2018. According to Shore Conference Wrestling, the Panthers also have won five district titles (1987, 1988, 1990, 1991, 2018) and 29 Shore Conference division championships, including six straight in the 1990s ('93-98) and four straight from 2017-2020.
The program had its lone state champion, Jeff Beverly, in 1999, and it has had seven silver medalists (Sean Fleming, 1972; Dan Transue, 1987; Jason Nase, twice, 1991, 1992; Kurt Pellegrino, twice 1997, 1998; Jordan Beverly, 2009). Jordan Beverly took third in 2010, and there have been three Panthers who placed fourth: Brady, in 2002; Jeff Jacobs in 2006, and Jeff Keffer in 2009.
Other state medalists: Jim Airey was fifth in 2005 and Jordan Beverly was fifth in 2008; Jeff Beverly was sixth in 1998 and Leif Ruschmeyer was sixth in 2004; Sean Brand was seventh in 2010, and Eamon O'Neil finished in 7th/8th in 1998, before the state tournament wrestled off those places to decide the medal positions.
Point Boro also has had more than a dozen region champions, and more than two dozen district champions.
