Mayor Stephen Reid said he will call for an investigation on Tuesday into information he received that coaches were cursing at Point Pleasant Beach Little League players during a game last week.

Reid said he will ask officials to address information that coaches cursed at the 9-year-old baseball team during a game against Manasquan last week.

"I think something needs to be done," Reid said.

Reid said there was yelling and cursing at the players – including the "f-word" – after the players allegedly played poorly.

"There's never any room for cursing," Reid said. "You're basically hurting those student athletes."
