Point Pleasant Boro Football Coach Steps Down
The head football coach at Point Pleasant Boro High School has stepped down after two of the most successful seasons in school history.

The head football coach at Point Pleasant Boro High School has stepped down.
Matt Cilento, the head football coach, has stepped down from his position, citing a desire to spend more time with his family.
"I want to thank Coach Cilento for his dedication to the program and commitment to using football as a pathway to develop our student athletes as better people," Point Pleasant Boro High School officials said in a tweet.

Cilento, the 2017 Shore Sports Network Football Coach of the Year, told the network that the commitment level "I need to make to our kids and the football program, I'm not going to be able to invest that this year."
Cilento went 19-3 and led the Panthers to back-to-back Shore Conference Class B South division titles. This past season, according to the publication, Point Boro went 11-1 and reached the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group II sectional championship game; the 11 wins were the program's most since 2005.
