Point Pleasant EMS Log: Structure Fire, Water Rescue

Point Pleasant Boro emergency personnel have been very busy lately – particularly during the recent three-day holiday weekend.

Point Pleasant Boro emergency personnel have been very busy lately – particularly during the recent three-day holiday weekend.

Here are the significant incidents that occurred during that weekend:

  • Friday, 1/18/19: Point Boro EMS, along with the ESU Unit and in conjunction with Point Pleasant Fire Department Station 75 Water Rescue Team, were dispatched into Brick Township for a possible submerged subject into the water. Units cleared from the scene after determining services were not needed.
  • Sunday, 1/20/19: Point Boro EMS responded with Station 75 for a reported chimney fire. Squad 35 provided BLS coverage for the fire company while they operated on scene. In addition, due to extreme weather conditions, Squad 35 conducted an overnight standby to ensure there was adequate staffing. All three ambulances were staffed between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Monday, 1/21/19: Point Boro EMS, Point Pleasant Borough Office of Emergency Management and Station 75 responded to a Point Pleasant Beach working structure fire assignment. Ambulances 356, 357, 358, Rescue 355 and 359, and Captain 350 responded to assist Point Pleasant First Aid & Emergency Squad with BLS coverage. Squad 35’s ESU Unit was deployed for firefighter rehab utilizing a rehab tent. Units on scene operated for approximately three hours.
