Point Pleasant Postpones Christmas Tree Lighting Due To Storm Forecast
Borough officials have pushed back the tree lighting and Market in the Park because of the threat of rain on Saturday.
POINT PLEASANT, NJ — With significant rain in the forecast for Saturday, Point Pleasant officials have postponed the borough's Christmas tree lighting and festivities.
The celebration and Market in the Park event will be held on Sunday, Dec. 4, borough officials said.
The National Weather Service forecast is calling for a 100 percent chance of rain on Saturday until about 2 p.m.

Festivities on Sunday are scheduled for 5 p.m.-8 p.m. in Community Park at the corner of Beaver Dam Road and Bridge Avenue.
There will be performances by local groups, horse and carriage rides, local vendors, food trucks, and bounce houses. There also will be an opportunity to take photos with Santa Claus.
