Point Pleasant School Board Sets Meeting Dates For 2023

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — The Point Pleasant Board of Education has set its meeting dates for 2023, part of the board's reorganization meeting on Jan. 2.

The school board swore in two new members: Stephen Henry and Michael Sullivan, who were the top votegetters in the November election.

Henry received 3,428 votes, and Sullivan 3,088. John LoVerde received 1,554, William Munn 1,350, William J. Dikun 1,341, and Heather Kertman 1,301, according to the official results certified by the Ocean County Clerk's Office.

Henry and Sullivan joined Cheryl Salway, who was chosen as board president; Dawn Coughlin, who was chosen as board vice president; John Florio, Joan Speroni, and Larry Williams on the board.

Diane Peterson and Jacquelyn Wieland did not seek re-election.

The Point Pleasant school board meets twice a month during the school year, and once a month during the summer.

The meeting schedule approved at the reorganization meeting is as follows:

• April 3: Budget Presentation and Workshop Meeting, 7 p.m., Ocean Road Elementary School
• April 24: Regular Business Meeting and Budget Adoption, 7 p.m., Ocean Road Elementary School
• May 8: Workshop Meeting, 7 p.m., Board Office, 2100 Panther Path
• May 22: Regular Business Meeting, 7 p.m., Ocean Road Elementary School
