Point Pleasant School District Extends Kindergartner Registration.
Eligible students must file on or before Oct. 1

POINT PLEASANT— The Point Pleasant Borough School District is urging Point Pleasant Borough families of children who will have turned five on or before October 1, 2016, to register their children to attend kindergarten for the 2016-2017 school year.
The school district has extended the registration deadline through May 31.
Parents and guardians of eligible students may pick up registration packets from the main offices of Ocean Road Elementary School and Nellie F. Bennett Elementary School between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Families must bring the following documents to the school at the time of registration in order to receive a registration packet:
Original copy or copy with raised seal of the child’s birth certificate

Current deed or lease indicating a Point Pleasant Borough address
Minimum two current utility bills or bank statements showing a Point Pleasant Borough address
Child’s immunization record to date
“We recommend families complete their children’s kindergarten registration as early as possible,” said Superintendent of Schools Vincent S. Smith. “Early registration provides us a more accurate measure of the year’s enrollment, which is critical for allocating class sizes and planning purposes as well as to better accommodate our students’ needs.”
