Police Chief, 2 Officers Sworn To New Posts In Point Pleasant

Police Chief Adam Picca, sworn in privately at the beginning of October, received a full ceremony before family and friends.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Point Pleasant officials formally honored new Poice Chief Adam Picca on Monday with a public swearing-in ceremony at the Borough Council meeting.

The promotions of Picca and Capt. Chris Leonhardt were announced at the Sept. 26 council meeting, and both men were sworn to their new titles on Oct. 1, after former Chief Robert Lokerson retired.

On Monday, they were given the formal treatment of being sworn with their families and friends present, Borough Administrator Frank Pannucci Jr. said.

Joining them in being sworn was Loren MacIver, who was promoted to lieutenant. His promotion was delayed while the borough awaited the results of the New Jersey civil service exam for lieutenant. MacIver was promoted from sergeant.
