Ralph E. Bruno Sr., Lifelong Resident Of Point Pleasant Beach, Dies at 77
Services slated for Thursday and Friday.

Ralph E. Bruno, Sr., a lifelong resident of Point Pleasant Beach, passed away at his home with his family by his side, on Sunday, April 19, 2015.
Ralph was born on September 24, 1937 to James and Sally Bruno. He served as an altar boy at St. Peters Church where he also attended grammar school. Ralph was a tile and marble setter for the Tile Layers Union local 52, NYC, NY for over 25 years. He then went on to own and operate Bruno Marble and Tile in Point Pleasant Beach.
He was a parishioner of St. Peter’s R.C. Church in Point Pleasant Beach. During his leisure time, Ralph enjoyed boating, fishing and golfing. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his family. In the early 80s Ralph was a co-owner of many thoroughbred horses, which he enjoyed caring for and riding.
Ralph is preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Johanson and by his infant granddaughter, Sarah Bruno. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy (Collins) Bruno, by his children and their spouses, Sandy and Kevin Cottrell of Waretown, James and Cathie Bruno of Wall, Kimberley and Peter Zarycki of Lanoka Harbor and Ralph and Wendy Bruno Jr. of Point Pleasant; eleven grandchildren, Cristin, Kelly, KimberLee, John-Anthony, Brittany, Matthew, Michael, Jennifer, Nicholas and Valerie and one great-granddaughter, Giada Michelle. Ralph is also survived by his nieces, Cheryl L. Johanson and Kristin M. Dougherty and many cousins.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Avenue Point Pleasant Beach, NJ 08742. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 24, at St. Peter’s R.C. Church in Point Pleasant Beach. The interment will follow to St. Catharine’s Cemetery in Wall.
