Retiring Police Chief To Be Honored, Successor Promoted In Point Boro
The Point Pleasant Borough Council is set to honor Chief Robert Lokerson as he retires.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Point Pleasant officials are scheduled to honor Police Chief Robert Lokerson on his retirement on Monday night.
The ceremony is set for the Borough Council meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. at town hall.
In addition to honoring Lokerson, who is retiring after 25 years of service to Point Pleasant, including nearly two years as chief, the council meeting will have the promotion of Capt. Adam Picca as chief.

Lokerson, who is married and has three children, was promoted to chief on Dec. 1, 2020, succeeding Police Chief Richard Larsen. Lokerson joined the department in October 1997 as a police officer and after graduating from the Atlantic County Police Academy spent seven years as a police officer, including being assigned as a field training officer.
Lokerson was promoted to sergeant in November 2004, and to lieutenant in November 2009. He was promoted to captain in August 2015 and was appointed operations commander and served as the department training coordinator, 911 coordinator, emergency medical technician coordinator, domestic violence liaison, court liaison, and public information officer. He received numerous life-saving awards and commendations during the course of his career.
