Road Closures In Point Pleasant, Bay Head Following Storm
Power outages are affecting Point Pleasant, Point Pleasant Beach, Mantoloking and Bay Head, with nearly 1,000 customers out, JCP&L said.
POINT PLEASANT, NJ β Downed wires and other hazardous conditions are causing street closures in Point Pleasant and Bay Head Saturday night in the wake of severe thunderstorms that have moved through the area.
The storm has caused power outages through the area, with nearly 1,000 homes and businesses in Point Pleasant, Point Pleasant Beach, Mantoloking and Bay Head without electrical service as of 10 p.m. according to Jersey Central Power & Light.
Point Pleasant police said Sunset Avenue is closed between Bridge Avenue and Moore Avenue "due to hazardous road conditions."

Also in Point Pleasant, on Barnegat Boulevard near the intersection with Rue Cambon there is a tree in the road, police said, and there is a tree in the road on Bay Avenue near Howe Street.
Some homes in Point Pleasant had power restored and there were about 75 still without service as of 10 p.m., down from 400 earlier in the evening.

In Bay Head, Bridge Avenue and Lake Avenue are closed due to wires down, the Ocean County Sheriff's Office said. Drivers should avoid the area, the sheriff's office said.
There were more than 510 homes without power in Bay Head as of 10 p.m., 191 in Mantoloking and more than 120 in Point Pleasant Beach, according to JCP&L.
