Schrader Set for Return to Australian Courts

Point Boro native ready to continue professional career

Since graduating from Point Boro High School, Abby Schrader's basketball career has taken her from the University of Maine to professional teams all around the world.

This week, Schrader returned to the courts in Australia after signing a contract with the Geelong Supercats of the South East Australian Basketball League according to a statement on the team's website.

In a statement on the website, Schrader said she is looking forward to continuing to play at a high level down under. "I'm really excited to get back and spend time with the girls, on and off the court - especially getting to know the new players," she said.

Schrader also played with the Supercats last year when she averaged 12.4 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. "We have some unfinished business as a group this year," she said. "We have the best fans in the league, who travel all over to see us and it's terrific."

The former Lady Panther is scheduled to return to the team on Monday and join them for their first scrimmage on Saturday.
