Seafood Festival In Point Pleasant Beach Canceled After Seaside Park Explosion
The 39th annual "Festival of the Sea" was cancelled Saturday after an explosion in Seaside Park, according to authorities.
Point Pleasant Beach's 39th annual "Festival of the Sea," otherwise known as the "Seafood Fest," was cancelled Saturday after an explosion in Seaside Park, according to authorities.
The Ocean County Sheriff's Office confirmed the cancellation just after the event was supposed to start. A message from borough officials said the cancellation was happening because of the events in Seaside Heights.

We hope you will join us on September 17th, 2016 for our 2016 Festival of the Sea, rated number one seafood festival in NJ. Of course it is not about just seafood. Taste a wide selection of different foods and Desserts. Music all afternoon and plenty of seating.
Our rain date will be September 18th, 2016
Festival runs from 10am to 7pm Arnold and Bay Avenues.
Other towns were taking similar precautions. Belmar told its residents that it was inspecting and clearing all garbage cans and "will bring them in overnight" in response to Seaside Heights explosion.
