Short-Term Rental Ban Proposed In Point Pleasant

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — The Point Pleasant Borough Council is set to consider a ban on short-term rentals in the borough, one of eight ordinances on the agenda for Monday's council meeting.

The meeting is set for 7 p.m. Monday in the council chambers at Borough Hall, 2233 Bridge Ave.

The ordinance for the proposed short-term rental ban is scheduled for a first reading, one of three ordinances that are on the agenda for first readings.

Also set to be introduced is an ordinance appropriating $1.77 million for capital improvements and one appropriating $249,500 for water and sewer improvements.

There are five ordinances set for second readings and a final vote, including one amending fees for licensed towing companies and one amending the property maintenance code. One adds provisions for lead paint inspections, to meet a state requirement.
