Storm Forecast Forces Tube Race Cancellation In Point Pleasant Beach
Efforts by the borough's Recreation Committee to revive the "Hey Rube" inner tube race have been met with multiple rounds of stormy weather.
POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — Unrelenting weekend rain and rough surf has forced the Point Pleasant Beach Recreation Committee to cancel the "Hey Rube! Still Got Your Tube?" event, the committee announced Thursday.
The entire event, including the race and the party, has been canceled, officials said.
Anyone who registered and purchased a sweatshirt or T-shirt can pick them up at the Point Pleasant Beach Chamber of Commerce, 517 Arnold Ave. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If you need special accommodations for pickup of paid merchandise, call the office or send them a message through the Facebook page.
"Sorry we couldn’t make it happen, and thank you to all those who helped prepare, sponsored, promoted, hyped, and planned to participate in the event! Stay tuned for next year's date," the committee said.
