Suspect Arrested For Weapons Offenses In Point Pleasant Boro

POINT PLEASANT BORO – A suspect was arrested on weapons offenses on Tuesday in Point Pleasant Boro.

Jonathan Cancro, 38, of Point Pleasant was arrested after an investigation by the Point Pleasant Police Department.

The arrest happened on Tuesday when Detective Joseph Hynes charged Cancro with several firearm-related crimes, police said.

Cancro was charged with second-degree possession of an assault firearm, fourth-degree certain persons not to possess firearms and fourth-degree possession of large capacity ammunition magazines, police said.

Several firearms were seized along with various firearm parts and accessories.

Cancro was released from custody on a complaint summons pending his first appearance in Superior Court, police said.
