Testing Scheduled For Route 88 Bridge: Police

The tests will impact traffic into and out of Point Pleasant, police warn.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Point Pleasant police are warning motorists to expect disruptions of traffic on Route 88 this week as the state Department of Transportation conducts maintenance on the bridge.

DOT officials advised police the testing will happen between 9:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. The testing includes opening the bridge every hour for a 15-minute span.

The testing is part of cable and bridge maintenance, officials said, and will continue through Thursday, Dec. 15.
