Since I saw the coaster in the ocean just a day after the storm I knew I'd be getting there every chance I got. I photographed it from the ground; from a plane; from the pier; in the dark; in the early morning and so on and so on.Every time I left I had a new idea on how I was going to photograph it next. Sunrises, star trails, high tide, low tide. I couldn't get enough. I was there the morning after Chris.A. planted the flag. the sunrise that morning was perfect. I was there the day they brought it down. I was happy and sad, all at once. The restoration of the shore meant the removal was necessary, but I still felt a sense of loss. I exhibit many of those images at The Gallery 13 in Asbury Park. Some can be seen in my upcoming exhibit there, opening at 6pm on August 3rd and showing all month. Some can be found in my book, "Visions Of Devastation", available on my website, www.johendleyphotography.com I'm thrilled to see the progress being made along the New Jersey coastline. We've got a long way to go, but every day is an improvement.
