Point Pleasant Annual Halloween Parade On Tap For Today

Parade begins at the corner of Dorsett Dock Road and Bridge Avenue at 1 p.m. on Oct. 25.

Point Pleasant’s 35th Annual Halloween Parade kicks this afternoon at the corner of Dorsett Dock Road and Bridge Avenue and will continue down Bridge Avenue.

“This wonderful Point Pleasant tradition is the home of many Halloween enthusiasts and parade fanatics,“ said Eileen McCabe, Executive Director of the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce. “We encourage the whole town and surrounding towns to participate in this great fun at the Jersey Shore.“

Judging takes place along the parade route at the corner of Dorsett Dock Road and Bridge Avenue. Parade participants, pulled floats and vintage cars will meet at STS Service Center Black Top, 3117 Bridge Avenue. All motorized floats, dance groups, zombies and bands meet at the corner of Cohocton and Bridge Avenue.

The parade will march down Bridge Avenue to Community Park, where the winners are announced and trophies are awarded by Mayor Robert Sabosik and Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce President, Jim VanNostrand.

There are 12 categories with trophies awarded to first place winners and one best overall grand winner. Winners are announced and given a trophy at the end of the parade route.
