Trolley Service To Start In Point Pleasant Beach On July 1

Trolley will run from Monday through Sunday between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m., mayor says.

Point Pleasant Beach, NJ — Don't feel like walking around town during the summer months?

Well, starting July 1, you won't have to. The Great American Trolley Company will launch its trolley rides in the downtown area for residents and visitors, according to the Ocean Star.

The trolley service is the brainchild of Mayor Stephen Reid, who wanted to make it easier for people to get around town during the busy summer months.

“One of my ideas is to make a family-friendly town and I want to see visitors come into our town, park their cars once and be able to move around,” he said.

One trolley will run Mondays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The company will schedule a second trolly to run on the same schedule on weekends to handle increased traffic, Reid said.
