​USCGA Flotilla 16-07 Presented Proclamation for NSBW at Wall

Wall Township, NJ – United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 16-07 was presented with a proclamation recognizing “National Safe Boating Week” from the Wall Township Town Committee on Wednesday, April 25. The proclamation was presented to Flotilla 16-07 by Township Mayor Timothy J. Farrell, Deputy Mayor Kevin P. Orender, Committeeman Dominick DiRocco, Committeeman George K. Newberry, and Committeeman Carl Braun to members of the flotilla.

Flotilla Commander Basil (Bill) Iwanyk said, “On behalf of the United States Coast Guard and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, I thank the Wall Township Town Committee for recognizing the significance of National Safe Boating Week which emphasizes the importance of safe recreational boating and watercraft activities for 2018. The Auxiliary mission is to educate the public in responsible boating, promote safe boating practices, and help in assuring that watercraft have the basic operational safety features. This proclamation is an endorsement of the work being accomplished by the Auxiliary as well as heightening the awareness of responsible recreational boating."

Flotilla 16-07 will also be presented a proclamation Seaside Heights Town Committee on Thursday, May 3rd at 5pm.

National Safe Boating Week inspires boating safety awareness including wearing a life jacket while out on the water and other ways to prevent boating accidents, and loss of property or life.
