Videos Show 'Monster Great White' Shark Off Point Pleasant Beach
UPDATE: Videos show a fisherman wrangling with what he called a "monster great white" shark off Point Pleasant Beach.
It's safe to go back in the water. Just be careful if you're 30 miles out.
A fisherman who operates a boat called "Big Nutz Required II" managed to wrangle with a 16-foot shark off the Jersey Shore on Tuesday (see videos below).
That would put the shark somewhere in the neighborhood of the monster from "Jaws," which the Matt Hooper character, when first spotting the killer fish from a fishing boat named "Orca," saw the shark and said, "That's a 20-footer."

"Twenty-five," the character "Quint" famously replied.
Ray Kerico, who was on the boat, said the fish was spotted, and dealt with, about 30 miles off the Manasquan Inlet.

And the fish didn't give in easily, either. "It was like a real-life Jaws," he said.
Kerico said the shark actually circled the boat about 10 times, bit the side of the vessel and stole their chum bag. It was there, at their boat, for about an hour.
"We saw this big, black blob. Then we saw the white belly," he said. "It took a piece of fiberglass that we're not going to fix."
The boaters then left the area, but the stubborn shark did not.
"It was just about the craziest thing I've ever seen," Kerico said.
