Students signed pledges, participated in international event recently.
A number of students at the Ocean Road School in Point Pleasant took a pledge recently to walk to school or to their bus stop as part of the international Walk To School Day.
“All students are encouraged to walk to school, regardless of their distance to the school,” said Grace Hagemeyer, who helped organize the event.
International Walk to School Day started in 1997, as a way to encourage school children to walk to school. This year, children from over 40 countries participated on Oct. 8. To learn more about the initiative, click here.
