2 Water Main Breaks Disrupting Traffic In Point Pleasant

Police are urging motorists to avoid the area until further notice while repairs are made.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Two water main breaks are disrupting traffic in the area of Herbertsville Road and River Avenue on Wednesday morning, Point Pleasant police said.

The first break closed River Avenue between Herbertsville Road and Allen Street, according to a Nixle alert from police about 9:30 a.m.

About 10:15 a.m. police sent a second alert, saying Herbertsville Road is closed westbound from Maxson Avenue to Barton Avenue because of a second break in the same area.

There was no estimate of how long the closures will be in place or how long it will take for repairs to be made. Point Pleasant police said motorists should plan an alternate route until further notice.
