Water Main Flushing Coming Up In Point Pleasant

The borough will be performing the routine work in the coming weeks. Mark your calendar.

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — The Point Pleasant Water Department will start flushing water mains in April, borough officials said.

The routine maintenance will begin April 3, weather permitting, and will continue for approximately six weeks. The flushing will take place Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Residents and businesses can expect discolored water during this time. The discoloration will clear up as the water department moves to the next are.

"Please refrain from washing clothes until your water runs clear," officials said.

The flushing is an opportunity to check the function of all the borough’s fire hydrants and is necessary to flush out the water mains in order to provide the best quality water year-round.
