Work To Fix Point Pleasant Boro Schools 'On Schedule'
Voters passed a referendum to fund the replacement of the roof at Nellie F. Bennett Elementary School and two other schools.

Work to improve Point Pleasant Boro schools - passed in a December 2013 referendum - is on schedule and well on its way to completion, according to school officials.
Voters then passed a referendum to fund the replacement of the roof at Nellie F. Bennett Elementary School, Memorial Middle School and Point Pleasant Boro High School.
The project includes upgrades to the heating and ventilation units, and repairs to deteriorated masonry in the schools, according to The Ocean-Star.

The contract for the $15.9 million project was awarded in May. Superintendent Vincent Smith said that since school was let out, work on the schools has not stopped, according to The Ocean Star.
