Young Woman Does The Right Thing For Her Dog In Point Pleasant
Friends urge her to leave dog in car when they are told pup can't be on the boardwalk, but she refuses.

It’s called doing the right thing.
The New Jersey SPCA shared its ”Shore Enforcement Detail Story of the Day” on Facebook.
It goes like this. A white 2015 Audi pulled into the Point Pleasant municipal parking lot at Arnold and Ocean Avenue on Monday afternoon. Four young women get out of the car with a small white dog. They head for the boardwalk.

But they are stopped by Point Pleasant police and are informed no dogs are allowed on the boardwalk. The police contact NJSPCA to let officers know they were stopped on the boardwalk.
“NJSPCA sets up in the parking lot to make sure dog is not returned to the car and left there,“ Capt. Rick Yocum said.

The dog’s owner returned to the parking lot and paced for 30 minutes. Her friends show up again and told her to leave the dog in the car and come back to the boardwalk, he said.
No way, she tells her friends.
“The young lady grabs her backpack out of the car and struts away to the curb and waits 30 minutes until a “real friend” shows up and picks her and her pup up to take them home,” Yocum said in the Facebook post.
“This young lady had no idea she was being “watched” and decided to do the right thing,” he said. ”I do not know her name or her story but I can tell you that I am very proud of her for standing up against her friends/family and doing the right thing for her pup.”
Yocum also thanked Point Pleasant police and the borough parking enforcement officers for their dedication to animals.
