1 Killed, 1 Injured In Sunday Shooting At Mercer County Parking Lot

The shooting took place on the side of 142 West Hanover Street, Trenton in the State of New Jersey parking lot, authorities said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — One person was killed, and another injured in a double shooting that took place Sunday afternoon in Trenton, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said.

At approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday Trenton police received three Shot Spotter activations for multiple locations in the 100 block of West Hanover Street. On arrival, officers found Ali Abdullah, 25, of Trenton, lying on the sidewalk suffering a gunshot wound. He was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead a short time later, authorities said.

While officers were on scene, a second shooting victim arrived at Capital Health Regional Medical Center by private vehicle. The 30-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder area and was taken into surgery, authorities said. He is currently in stable condition.

Authorities said the majority of the shooting took place on the side of 142 West Hanover Street in the State of New Jersey parking lot. Numerous shell casings were found on the sidewalk next to the location, according to police. Two vehicles were parked in the lot, and one had been struck numerous times.

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating.
