2 Arrested, $7,100 In Drugs Seized In Mercer County: Prosecutor

The two men were arrested during a traffic stop, and their homes were subsequently searched.

Two people were arrested and cash, two handguns and $7,100 in drugs were seized following a three-month investigation by the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced.

Christopher Wallace and Anthony Jacobs were arrested during a traffic stop of a Dodge Caravan in the area of Farragut Avenue and French Alley in Trenton on Monday, Feb 26. Police said Wallace was in possession of 20 glassine packets of suspected heroin and $447 at the time of the stop.

Officers with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, the DEA, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Hamilton, Princeton and Trenton police departments, under the command of the prosecutor’s Special Investigations Unit, then executed several search warrants in the Trenton.

At Jacobs’ home, detectives said they recovered about 30 grams of marijuana and $819 in cash. At Wallace’s home, detectives said they recovered numerous items used to manufacture heroin, about five grams of raw heroin, about five grams of marijuana and $3,974 in cash. The seized drugs have an approximate street value of $7,100.

They also said they recovered two loaded handguns during a search of Wallace’s Buick. A 9mm Glock with an extended magazine was found under the front driver’s seat and a Ruger P89 9mm with an extended magazine was found under the front passenger seat. The Ruger was found to be stolen out of Virginia, police said.

Wallace, 30, is charged with weapons and narcotic-related offenses. The prosecutor’s office has filed a motion to have him detained. Jacobs, 26, is charged with narcotics offenses. He was released pending future court proceedings.
