PRINCETON, NJ – Twenty-two students from Johnson Park Elementary School will learn remotely until Nov. 9 after a staff member reported “close contact” with COVID-19, the school district said.

The staff member, who is quarantining for 14 days, reported living in a household where a person tested positive for coronavirus.

Superintendent Barry Galasso said the 22 students, one teacher and one instructional aide were moved to the remote learning model as a precaution.

“As a precautionary measure, the students in one class, as well as their siblings, will participate in remote learning until Monday, November 9. No staff members at Johnson Park have tested positive, and no students have tested positive,” Galasso said in a statement.

The school district did not mention which class was moved to the remote learning model.

The staff member who reported 'close contact', has a child who will also quarantine. The child's cohort was not at Johnson Park on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday the past week, and that class has been cleared by the health department to continue in-person learning.

On Oct. 12, 21 students from the school were moved to remote learning, after a student reported living in a household where someone tested positive for COVID-19.
