2nd Coronavirus Death Reported In Princeton
Gov. Murphy closed all state and county parks on Tuesday. However, municipal walking paths and hiking trails in Princeton will remain open.
PRINCETON, NJ — The second coronavirus death has been reported in Princeton on Wednesday, officials announced. This brings the municipality's death total to two.
The 80-plus year old man had preexisting health conditions and was under medical care at the Princeton Care Center, Princeton Spokesman Frederick Williams said.
After the man tested positive he was immediately moved to an isolated wing of the facility.

Princeton Health Department is investigating is any other residents or staff were exposed. Non-essential visitation to the facility was suspended in mid-March and universal masking
procedures are in place.
Princeton also has a total of 45 positive COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday.

Gov. Phil Murphy announced 275 deaths and 3,088 new cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday. This brings the state total to 47,437 and 1,504 deaths. Read more: NJ Coronavirus Updates: Here's What You Need To Know

Murphy also closed all state and county parks on Tuesday and left it up to each municpality's discretion whether to close their own parks. Princeton's municipal walking paths and hiking trails will remain open. Read more: Gov. Murphy Closes All Somerset County Parks Amid Coronavirus
State and county parks here in Princeton, include the Delaware & Raritan Canal, Turning Basin Park and Battlefield State Park.
Playgrounds, soccer fields, baseball fields, tennis courts, and other active facilities along with public restrooms in Princeton municipal parks remain closed. All group activities are prohibited.
