2nd Princeton Officer Tests Positive For Coronavirus

As of Monday there are a total of 26 positive new coronavirus cases in Princeton. Mercer County has a total of 249 cases.

PRINCETON, NJ — A second Princeton police officer tested positive for the new coronavirus. As of Monday, Princeton has a total of 26 total positive COVID-19 cases.

The officer began displaying symptoms on March 20, and immediately took steps to self-isolate. The officer is currently not hospitalized and continues showing moderate symptoms of COVID-19.

The officer has written no citations, has made no arrests and has had limited contact with the public during the period of communicability, Princeton officials said.

The Princeton Health Department will contact anyone who has had contact with this officer.

Of Princeton's total cases 15 were women and 11 were men. The ages of those testing positive include:

  • 1 - less than 11
  • 1 - 12 to 17
  • 19 - 18 to 65
  • 5 - over 66

Mercer County is also conducting a drive-up testing site located at Quaker Bridge Mall beginning Tuesday. The testing site will operate 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday and will be appointment only, for symptomatic residents of Mercer County.
