4 New Officers Sworn In, 4 Promoted To New Roles In Princeton Police

The officers took the oath of office in a room full of family members, colleagues and well-wishers on Monday evening.

PRINCETON, NJ — Four new officers were welcomed to the Princeton Police Department on Monday.

Officers Nia Toombs, Mark McCoy, Ryan Mostrangeli and Anthony Leone took the oath of office in a room full of family members, colleagues and well-wishers. Mayor Mark Freda administered the oath of office.

“Remember you are the guardians of this community now. Police work will be challenging at times, but know you’ll be supported the entire time you’re with us,” Police Chief Jonathan Bucchere told the new recruits.

Bucchere assured the families of the new officers that the police department would provide them with the training and tools needed to perform their duties at the highest level while remaining safe.

In addition to swearing in new officers, four current officers were sworn into their new roles within the department.

Lt. Thomas Lagomarsino, Sgt. Don Mathews, Cpl. Darwin “Bill” Kieffer and Cpl. Eric Dawson were sworn into their new position by Freda.

“I speak for the entire police department when I say I look forward to working with you, alongside you for years to come,” Bucchere said.
