7 Princeton Pianists Announced as Winners of Young Artists Competition at Princeton Festival

Winners were declared on Sunday in the annual competition.

Princeton, NJ -- Seven young pianists were declared winners in The Princeton Festival’s annual Competition for Young Artists on Sunday, June 12, the festival announced on Thursday. 

The competition began with over 120 participants competing in six age categories. Categories included ages 6 –9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-18, Four Hands (under 25), and Open (under 25).

Each participant played a selection from a list of assigned pieces. After the preliminary rounds on June 4 and 5, adjudicators Joanne Polk and Mikhal Yanovitsky sent winners of the preliminaries on to the Finals on June 12.

Jacobs Music was again the sponsor for the Young Pianists Competition, which has been a highly anticipated feature of The Princeton Festival since 2008. Lois Laverty and Glenn Smith were Masters of Ceremonies.
