Princeton Grads Bag Over $6 Million In Lottery Wins: Reports

The group’s "winning streak" included 61 scratch-off tickets on a single day in Indiana, reports say.

PRINCETON, NJ – At least four Princeton University graduates have won more than $6 million from lotteries in the past few months, according to media reports.

And how they’ve managed to do that is a mystery, according to The Indianapolis Star and ABC6 in Philadelphia.

The group had at least 66 winning lotteries in Indiana, Missouri, Washington and the District of Columbia, according to the report. The “winning streak” came to light after Manuel Montori IV, whom The Indianapolis Star describes as the “apparent leader of the group,” cashed in 61 winning Hoosier Lottery scratch-off tickets on a single day in Indiana.

The biggest prize for the group was a $5 million scratch-off ticket that Montori won in Missouri, reported ABC6.

According to the Star, Montori has been on an 18-month winning streak, and his group includes at least three other Princeton alumni — Matthew Gibbons, Hannah Davinroy and Zoe Buonaiuto. All four are linked to a company founded by Montori — Black Swan Capital, LLC.

The group’s lottery purchasing spree has garnered much interest. A store manager told ABC6 that a woman would text her asking how many scratch-off tickets she had before coming in and buying them all. ABC6 estimates the group spent more than $2 million purchasing tickets.

Another store manager told The Star that Hannah and Zoe bought around 400 tickets during several visits which began in May. They also asked to be notified once new supply of tickets arrived.
