DWI Crash, Stalking, Fraud Reported In Princeton

PRINCETON, NJ — A DWI crash, fraud, stalking, and more were reported recently in Princeton.

On June 21 at 5:31 p.m.: Patrols responded to the 100 block of Chestnut Street to investigate the report of a stolen bicycle. The victim reported that their Schwinn bicycle, valued at $150, was stolen from their backyard sometime between June 20 and June 21. This theft is under investigation. There are no suspects at this time.

On June 22 at 2:25 p.m.: Patrol officers met with the Herrontown Road victim, who stated that an unknown person used her debit card to make three fraudulent transactions at a Target store in Clark. The victim suffered a monetary loss of $399.85. This theft is under further investigation.

On June 22 at 1:18 p.m.: The victim reported that a former coworker, Grace Mattera, 24, of Princeton, sent her multiple text messages, violating a no-contact court order. Mattera later turned herself into this department to be arrested for stalking and contempt of court. Mattera was subsequently turned over to the Mercer County Correctional Center.

On June 22 at 12:12 a.m.: After a motor vehicle stop on Hamilton Avenue, the driver of the vehicle, Peter Alvarez, 23, of Montgomery, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Alvarez was arrested at the scene and taken back to police headquarters for processing. Alvarez was issued a summons for being in possession of drug paraphernalia as well as multiple motor vehicle summonses. Alvarez was released on his own recognizance.

On June 26 at 2:05 a.m.: After a report of a one-car motor vehicle crash on Woodlands Way, the driver of the vehicle, Akash Patel, 22, of Union, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Patel was subsequently taken to police headquarters to be processed. Patel was later released to a sober adult after being issued multiple motor vehicle summonses.
