PRINCETON, NJ - Palmer Square will host a Bastille Day celebration and World Cup watch party on Monday, July 14, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Hulfish Street, according to Experience Princeton.
The event will include a toast to Princeton's sister city, Colmar, France, along with French and global cuisine and cocktails available throughout Hulfish Street and Palmer Square. A World Cup match, with the specific matchup still to be determined, will be shown starting at 3 p.m.
Additional activities include balloon twisting, bubble-making and a Waiter's Relay Race. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and can visit Experience Princeton's table for a chance to win prizes.
The celebration also ties into Princeton's ongoing Global Food Passport program, which allows participants to earn points and prizes by checking in at local restaurants throughout the season. Participating restaurants include 30 Burgers, Best Grill & Fries, Capriotti's Sandwich Shop, Ficus, Fresh Ó Tea, Ivy Inn, Jammin' Crepes, Mediterra Restaurant & Taverna, Nomad Pizza, Ooika, Pastiamo Pasta Bar & Café, Princeton Soup & Sandwich Company, Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard, Small World Coffee, Teresa's Pizza | Wine Bar, Tortuga's Mexican Village, Tropical Smoothie Café, Triumph Restaurant & Brewery and Yankee Doodle Tap Room.
Residents can register for the Global Food Passport online and check in again at the July 14 event to earn bonus points and additional prize eligibility, according to organizers. More information is available at ExperiencePrinceton.org.
