PRINCETON, NJ — The Baked Bear, a chain known for custom-made ice cream sandwiches, will officially open its Princeton location with a grand opening celebration Saturday, July 18, at noon.

The Baked Bear, founded in San Diego in 2013, by childhood friends Rob Robbins and Shane Stanger. The venue grew out of Robbins' lifelong love of ice cream sandwiches. The two left their careers in 2012 to open a dessert concept together, launching their first store in Pacific Beach, California.

The shop offers more than a dozen scratch-made cookies and ice cream flavors, allowing customers to build their own sandwiches by choosing cookies or brownies and an ice cream flavor. The menu also includes ice cream cups, cones, pints, sundaes and Bear Bowls — warm cookie or brownie bowls topped with ice cream.

The Princeton shop is one of several Baked Bear locations in New Jersey. The chain has expanded to more than 10 states since opening its first store in Pacific Beach, California.
