PRINCETON, NJ — Good morning, neighbors and welcome to Monday manual where we tell you what's happening in town this week.
PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton Mayor and Council will consider a $3 million pedestrian safety contract, three parking ordinances and the appointment of a temporary chief financial officer when it meets Monday, July 27.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in Main Council Chambers at 400 Witherspoon St. Residents can also attend via Zoom using webinar ID 894 0796 0789.
The largest item on the agenda is R-26-218, which would award a bid contract to Black Rock Enterprises LLC for Terhune Road Safe Streets to Transit pedestrian improvements in an amount not to exceed $3,039,948.55.
Council will also introduce three parking ordinances, each with a public hearing scheduled for August 10. Ordinance 26-27 would regulate parking on Hun Road, and Ordinance 26-28 would regulate parking on Walnut Lane and Guyot Avenue. Ordinance 26-29 would update public parking fees and related regulations, amending Chapter 19 of the Borough of Princeton code.
The Princeton Historic Preservation Commission will take up two applications when it meets Tuesday, at 5 p.m. in the Main Meeting Room of the municipal building at 400 Witherspoon St.
The commission is scheduled to act on resolutions for both applications. The first, filed by Amitaba Karmakar for 405 Basin Street in the Princeton Basin Historic District, seeks approval to install solar panels. The property is listed as Block 11503, Lot 1.01, in the R-9T zone.
The second, filed by Catherine Millett for 258 John Street in the Witherspoon-Jackson Historic District, involves aluminum window capping and the in-kind replacement of windows and doors. That property is listed as Block 15.04, Lot 93, in the R-4B zone.
The agenda also includes approval of minutes from the commission's June 23 meeting, a public comment period, a staff report and members' reports. Adjournment is estimated for 5:30 p.m.
Princeton residents have one more chance this month to bring their questions and concerns directly to Councilman Newlin, who has been holding weekly office hours at locations around town throughout July.
The sessions run Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and are open to anyone who wants to talk about local issues. The session will take place at the Meeting House.
